1. Mont-Saint-Sauveur
If it is the first time you go to ski, Mont-St-Sauveur is the best. It is very close to Montreal downtown (about 30-45 minutes drive). Besides, unlike many other ski site they have the magnetic carpet in the baby hill, so you won't loose too much energy by using rope tow to pull yourself up to the top of the baby hill. However, you may find yourself want to challenge other ski mountain soon because Mont-saint-Sauveur's trials are really short.
Economic Tips: If you rent a car at Budget, you can get one lift ticket free for 1 day or 1 night during the current season.

2. Bromont
I find Bromont is pretty good. The trials is not too short. The most important is that it's price is not very expensive. the food in it's cafeteria even charge less than others.
Economic Tips: If you need to rent a car to go ski at Bromont, go for Thrifty because you can get 2 lift tickets free for 1 day or 1 night with your Thrifty car key present to the ticket cashier.
3. Mont Sutton
There is no baby hill at Mont-Sutton. however, it's easiest beginner trial is long and pretty flat which I think is better. By the way, the food in the cafeteria at Sutton is very expensive and not really good (a very simple ham-cheese sandwish costs $2.80 + tax), so bring you own lunch!
4. Mont-Orford
Mont-Orford is a good ski mountain for every type of skier. They have trials for beginner (as easy as baby hill) and triple diamond trials for expert. If you are an advanced skier and find Mont-St-Sauveur is too small, Mont-Ste-Anne is too far to get there and Mont-Tremblant is too expensive, you should go to Mont-Orford. By the way, people at Mont-Orford are very nice, I love their services!
5. Mont-Saint-Anne
The worst thing about Mont-Saint-Anne is that it is too far away from Montreal. It takes around 2 hour and 30 minutes to go there. However, when you see the mountain, you will soon think it is worth. It's green circle (beginner) trials are the similar level as the blue square (intermediate) trials in Mont-Saint-Sauveur and it's black diamond trials is even much higher level than the double diamond trials at Bromont. I was thinking to try out the double diamond trials at Mont-Sainte-Anne, but after trying the diamond trials, I dare not.
Economic Tip: If you rent a car at Budget, you can get one life ticket free for 1 day or 1 night during the current season.
